Waiting for the light to change…”Man, this light is long”

Waiting for the cheque to arrive…”They said it’s in the mail”

Waiting for the test results…each hour feels like twenty

Waiting…and waiting…but not as patiently, as our God

God waits too…

God waits for us to believe…patience without bounds

God waits for us to obey…patience never-ending

God waits for us to stop our sin…patience deeper than a bottomless sea

And then God answers…

We wait for our God to speak…but we haven’t learned to listen
God speaks to us through a virgin mother…our wait is about to end

We wait for our God to act…but we haven’t learned to see
God acts through the birth of a baby…His perfect answer revealed

We wait for God’s promise of everlasting life…but haven’t learned to trust
Jesus dies on a lonely cross…God’s promise is fulfilled

Our wait is over…God’s waiting carries on

Light the Candle of Peace…
